Person of interest sought after 18-year-old fatally shot in Northeast D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — An 18-year-old man was shot and killed inside a Northeast D.C. establishment Tuesday morning, and authorities are seeking help to identify a person of interest captured on surveillance footage.

The shooting occurred around 10:49 a.m. in the 1200 block of Bladensburg Road. Officers found Jeremiah Law, of Fort Washington, Maryland, unconscious and suffering from gunshot wounds outside the establishment.

Law was transported to a local hospital by D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services, but despite efforts to save his life, he was pronounced dead. Detectives later determined the gunfire began inside the building before Law was discovered outside.

Images of a person of interest were released by investigators, who are urging anyone with information to contact them while avoiding direct contact with the individual.
