NEW YORK, NY — A lucky Powerball player in the Bronx is $100,000 richer after purchasing a third-prize-winning Powerplay ticket for Wednesday night’s drawing, New York Lottery officials announced.

The ticket, sold at Ameer Food Grocery on 1964 Grand Concourse, matched four of the five white balls and the red Power Ball. Thanks to the Powerplay option, the standard $50,000 prize was doubled to $100,000.

The winning numbers for the December 4 drawing were selected from a pool of one to 69 for the white balls and one to 26 for the red Power Ball. The Powerplay multiplier for the drawing was 2x, boosting the prize for this ticket.

Powerball drawings are held every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m., offering prizes ranging from $4 to multimillion-dollar jackpots.

Lottery officials are reminding winners to sign the back of their tickets and to check their numbers carefully.
