MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. — A $450 donation from the Walmart in Middletown has brought holiday cheer to local children in need through the Toys for Tots program.
On December 2, State Police Troop F troopers used the funds to purchase gifts for the annual program, which is run by the United States Marine Corps Reserves. The troopers spent the afternoon selecting toys to be distributed to families during the holiday season.
Donation boxes for Toys for Tots are set up at the State Police building at 55 Crystal Run Road in Middletown and will remain available for contributions until December 13. The program relies on community support to collect new, unwrapped toys for children.
“Toys for Tots has been helping parents make their children’s holiday special for over 77 years,” the New York State Police shared in a statement on social media, highlighting the program’s longstanding mission.
Walmart’s donation underscores the importance of community partnerships in spreading holiday joy.
