Philadelphia police seek suspect in aggravated assault at Save A Lot

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities are searching for a man accused of stabbing a security guard outside a Save A Lot store in the city’s 39th District on Wednesday afternoon.

The incident occurred around 12:40 p.m. at 4424 N. Broad Street, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. Investigators say the victim, who works as a security guard for the store, was attacked after repeatedly asking a man to leave the front of the property.

Following a series of verbal confrontations, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife and stabbed the guard before fleeing north on Broad Street. Police say the suspect is frequently seen in the area of the shopping complex where the assault occurred.

The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 5-foot-5, between 45 and 55 years old, with a medium build. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a hunter green jacket, green camouflage pants, a gray hoodie, and tan boots.
