Queens DA indicts 11 reputed gang members on conspiracy, attempted murder charges after multi-year probe

QUEENS, N.Y. — Eleven alleged members of two violent street gang subsets have been indicted on charges including conspiracy to commit murder, attempted murder, and reckless endangerment following a three-and-a-half-year investigation into gang violence in Southeast Queens, officials announced Wednesday.

The defendants, alleged members of the “Whole Blocc Boys” and “Score On Anything,” both factions of the “8 Trey Movin Crips,” are accused of participating in nine shooting incidents between March 2021 and December 2022. The violence, prosecutors said, was part of an ongoing turf war that left five victims, including one paralyzed.

“These defendants are accused of causing frenzied violence in their own communities by trying to kill their gang rivals,” Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz said. “We cannot and will not surrender our streets to reckless gang warfare.”

Seven of the defendants, including alleged leaders Alphati “Havoc” Tanis and Trevor “T3” Bailey, face charges of conspiracy in the first degree, carrying potential life sentences. Five suspects were arraigned Tuesday on a 57-count indictment, while others are awaiting arraignment or remain at large.

The indictment alleges the defendants staged brazen shootings in public spaces, including playgrounds and parks, often near schools. One incident involved a gunfight at Daniel M. O’Connell playground in June 2021 while children and families were present. Another, in September 2022, occurred near an elementary school, leaving a rival gang member injured.

Eleven firearms were seized as part of the investigation. Law enforcement officials, including NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch, underscored their commitment to dismantling gang activity and ensuring public safety.

Queens authorities aim to bring down violent gangs after years of shootings in public spaces.
