TOMS RIVER, N.J. — Ocean County was the most solidly Republican county in New Jersey during the 2024 presidential election, delivering a commanding victory for Donald Trump over Kamala Harris, according to nearly complete results.
Trump secured 67.4% of the vote in Ocean County, amassing 227,232 votes to Harris’ 105,789, with 99% of votes tallied. The county’s performance marks it as the “Trumpiest” in the state, providing the former president with his largest margin of victory in any New Jersey county.
Sussex County, another Republican stronghold, followed with Trump receiving 61.6% of the vote, totaling 52,121 votes, compared to Harris’ 36.6%, or 31,008 votes. Monmouth County, while also favoring Trump, saw a closer margin. Trump captured 54.8% of the vote there (197,409 votes), while Harris secured 43.4% (156,382 votes).
Ocean County, located along the Jersey Shore, has consistently leaned Republican in past elections, but the 2024 results underscore its growing role as a GOP bastion in an otherwise blue-leaning state.
Statewide, New Jersey ultimately went to Kamala Harris, continuing its decades-long streak of supporting Democratic presidential candidates, but Ocean County stands out as a powerful outlier in Trump’s favor.
