SEAFORD, Del. — A month-long drug investigation in Sussex County culminated in the arrests of two individuals on multiple felony gun and drug charges, Delaware State Police announced on Wednesday.
Katie Dilworth, 36, of Seaford, and King Gray, 37, of Laurel, were taken into custody on November 27 following the execution of a search warrant at a residence on the 9000 block of Brickyard Road. Authorities say the warrant was the result of an investigation into Dilworth’s suspected distribution of illegal narcotics from the home.
Before executing the search warrant, detectives observed Dilworth driving a Ford Explorer and conducted a traffic stop, knowing her driver’s license was revoked. A search of the vehicle revealed an alprazolam pill in the center console, police said, leading to her arrest.
Simultaneously, detectives at the residence stopped Gray as he walked away from the property with a child. A consensual search of his person reportedly uncovered 2.02 grams of crack cocaine and a stolen loaded 9mm handgun with an obliterated serial number, authorities said.
The investigation resulted in the seizure of illegal drugs and a firearm, and both Dilworth and Gray face multiple felony charges, including possession of a firearm by a person prohibited and drug possession with intent to distribute.
Authorities have not released further details regarding the investigation or the child’s custody status.
