Man shot inside Baltimore home as suspect is taken into custody

BALTIMORE, MD — Police have charged 26-year-old Charles Ward III with attempted first-degree murder following a shooting in Baltimore’s Northwest District on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred on December 1 at approximately 9:29 a.m. inside a residence in the 3600 block of Bowers Avenue. Officers responding to reports of a shooting found a 23-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left thigh.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition. Ward was arrested at the scene without incident by responding officers, who also recovered a handgun during the investigation.

Authorities have confirmed that Ward is accused of shooting the victim during an altercation inside the residence. He has since been transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he faces attempted first-degree murder charges.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
