WASHINGTON, D.C . — An Amazon delivery driver was held at gunpoint Sunday evening in Northwest D.C., where two armed suspects stole his van and vest before fleeing the area. The carjacking happened around 6 p.m . on the 2300 block of Tunlaw Road as the driver was making deliveries.
According to police, the driver was heading to the back of the van when he heard footsteps and turned to find a gun pointed at him by one of the suspects. The second suspect, also armed, joined the confrontation, and the pair demanded the van’s keys. Before driving away, one suspect also ordered the driver to hand over his Amazon vest.
The suspects fled, with one driving the van and the other following in a separate vehicle toward Wisconsin Avenue. Police recovered the stolen Amazon van later that evening, but no arrests have been made, and descriptions of the suspects have not been released.
