Police investigate two residential burglaries in Gainesville

Authorities probe pair of home break-ins in Prince William County.

GAINESVILLE, VA — Authorities are investigating two separate residential burglaries reported in Gainesville and Woodbridge over the past two days, with one involving stolen money and the other resulting in property damage.

The most recent incident occurred on November 28 at a residence on the 7300 block of James Madison Highway in Gainesville. Officers responded at 9:03 p.m. and determined that earlier in the evening, an unknown individual entered the home through an unsecured window. An undisclosed amount of money was reported missing.

The previous night, on November 27, officers were dispatched at 8:40 p.m. to a home on the 4400 block of Daisy Reid Avenue in Woodbridge. The investigation revealed that the suspect forced entry through the front door sometime between 5:50 p.m. and 7:15 p.m., causing visible damage to the door. No property was reported stolen.

Police have not identified suspects in either case and continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incidents.
