COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State police have launched an investigation into a post-game brawl between Ohio State and Michigan players, during which officers deployed pepper spray in an effort to break up the altercation.
The fight erupted on the field Saturday after Michigan’s victory over Ohio State, when Michigan players planted their team flag on the Ohio State logo at midfield. The provocative gesture triggered tensions, leading to a physical altercation involving players from both teams.

“Following the game, officers from multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in breaking up an on-field altercation,” Ohio State police said in a statement. “During the scuffle, multiple officers representing Ohio and Michigan deployed pepper spray. OSUPD is the lead agency for games and will continue to investigate.”
Videos shared on social media captured the chaotic scene, including footage from bystander @RCali21, who reported being sprayed in the melee.
Police have not yet identified those involved or stated whether any arrests or disciplinary actions will follow as the investigation continues.
