GAITHERSBURG, Md. — Two 17-year-olds from Hyattsville were arrested Tuesday after officers from the 4th District Community Action Team (DCAT) spotted a stolen vehicle tied to an October armed carjacking in Prince George’s County.
The investigation revealed that the white Kia Forte was stolen during an armed carjacking on Monday, October 28, 2024. On November 26, officers observed the vehicle near Bel Pre Road and Parker Farmer Way. The DCAT, with support from the 4th District Special Assignment Team, initiated a traffic stop in the 14200 block of Grand Pre Road, successfully apprehending the two teenage suspects.
Both suspects were transported to the 4th District Station, where they were charged with possession of a stolen vehicle. They were later released to their primary caregivers.
Authorities have not disclosed further details about the carjacking incident but confirmed the investigation remains ongoing.
