WASHINGTON, D.C. — A 15-year-old boy was shot in an alley behind an apartment complex on East Capitol Street Southeast on Friday morning, prompting an urgent investigation as police released surveillance footage of the suspects.
The shooting occurred around 9:42 a.m. in the 1700 block of East Capitol Street, according to the Metropolitan Police Department. After being struck, the teenager ran to nearby Eastern High School for help and was later transported to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Detectives reviewing the scene identified surveillance cameras that captured images of the suspects and their vehicle. The footage, released to the public on Tuesday, shows individuals linked to the incident fleeing the area.
