PERRY HALL, MD. — A Perry Hall couple who make a weekly tradition of playing the lottery is celebrating a $50,000 top prize after their chosen numbers hit big in the November 21 Bonus Match 5 drawing.
The retired couple, who bought their winning ticket at Honeygo Wine & Spirits on Honeygo Center Drive, said they use the same special numbers every week, playing one line of their favorites along with additional Quick Pick selections.
The winning moment came a week after the ticket purchase, when one half of the duo checked the numbers on their phone. “I knew right away we won,” he said, recalling how he woke his wife to share the exciting news.
The couple visited Maryland Lottery Headquarters on November 25 to claim their prize, sharing plans to use the windfall for home improvements and a vacation. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
