BALTIMORE, MD — A 33-year-old man shot in the leg sought help from a police officer Saturday night after gunfire erupted in Northeast Baltimore, prompting an investigation.
The incident unfolded around 9:36 p.m. when a Northeast District officer, conducting a routine business check on the 5400 block of Radecke Avenue, heard gunfire. Moments later, the victim approached the officer, informing him that he had been shot.
The officer rendered first aid at the scene, applying a tourniquet to the man’s leg before he was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities later determined the shooting occurred in the 4900 block of Frankford Avenue.
Northeast District shooting detectives are leading the investigation, though details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear.
