WASHINGTON, DC — A teenage boy was shot Friday morning near the campus of Eastern Senior High School, temporarily placing the school on alert status, according to officials.
Police responded to the 1700 block of East Capitol Street NE, the same block as the school, where they found the teen suffering from a gunshot wound. He was conscious and breathing when medics transported him to the hospital for treatment.
The school’s alert status was lifted shortly after as police continued their investigation into the shooting.
