Today’s weather in New Jersey brings a damp and brisk start to the weekend. Rain is expected to develop mainly after 2 PM, accompanied by a high near 42 degrees.

A southwest wind of around 15 mph will keep things blustery, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph. Precipitation is likely but light, with totals of less than a tenth of an inch anticipated. As evening falls, rain will persist, tapering off before 11 PM, with skies remaining cloudy. The temperature will drop to a low near 35 degrees as winds shift northwest at 5 to 10 mph, gusting up to 20 mph.

There is a chance rain could turn to snow in some northwestern parts of the state, and at higher elevations.
