NEW YORK — Police are searching for a 21-year-old man in connection with the theft of a gold-plated metal rose from the 9/11 Memorial inside the Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Midtown Manhattan.

The incident occurred on Wednesday at approximately 2:30 p.m. when an individual reportedly entered the church, located at 135 West 31st Street, and removed the rose without authorization. The suspect was last seen fleeing the scene on foot.
