QUEENS, N.Y. — The NYPD is asking for the public’s help in locating a 53-year-old man wanted in connection with a fatal hit-and-run that claimed the life of a bicyclist in Long Island City last month.
Authorities have identified the suspect as Bekim Fiseku, who is wanted in connection with the death of Amanda Servedio, a 36-year-old Queens resident. The incident occurred on the evening of Oct. 22, 2024, near the intersection of 34th Avenue and 37th Street in the 114th Precinct.
According to police, officers responding to a 911 call about a burglary in progress near 39th Avenue and Crescent Street attempted to stop a Dodge Ram 1500 with an obstructed license plate. The vehicle, occupied by three unidentified individuals, fled the scene, striking two police vehicles during its escape.
While evading police, the Dodge Ram continued eastbound on 34th Avenue, where it struck Servedio, who was riding a bicycle through the intersection at 37th Street. She was ejected from her bike and collided with a parked BMW. The vehicle did not remain at the scene and was later found abandoned near Newtown Road and 47th Street.
Officers rendered aid to Servedio at the scene, but she was pronounced dead after being transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Elmhurst. Two officers involved in the pursuit were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Program is circulating media of Fiseku and asking for anyone with information on his whereabouts to come forward. Tips can be submitted by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), logging onto the Crimestoppers website, or contacting the NYPD on social media.
The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made in connection with the two other occupants of the vehicle.
