NEW YORK — Police are searching for a man who fled after slashing a 55-year-old pedestrian in the face on the Upper West Side Wednesday morning.
The attack occurred at approximately 10:21 a.m. in front of 114 West 86th Street, according to the NYPD. Authorities said the suspect approached the victim without provocation and slashed him before fleeing the scene in an orange 2024 Subaru Crosstrek.

Emergency Medical Services transported the victim to Mount Sinai Morningside, where he was listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a light-complexioned male wearing a dark-colored T-shirt and dark-colored shorts. Police have not released additional information about the motive or location of the suspect.
Investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual or locating the vehicle involved.
The incident marks another act of violence in a busy residential area of Manhattan.
