Greenbelt, MD – A lottery player in Greenbelt secured a $40,000 third-tier win in the Mega Millions drawing on Sunday. This success came by leveraging the Megaplier option, turning a $10,000 prize into four times the amount.
The numbers drawn were 5, 35, 50, 51, and 59, with a Mega Ball of 8. The winning ticket featuring the 4x Megaplier was purchased at Greenbelt Shell, located at 8711 Greenbelt Road, Prince George’s County.
While no jackpot was claimed, over 21,000 Maryland Lottery players won prizes ranging from $2 to $500. The next Mega Millions drawing on Friday now boasts a jackpot of $453 million.
When claiming prizes exceeding $25,000, winners must visit the Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center in Baltimore by appointment. Lesser amounts can be redeemed at the cashier windows in any of Maryland’s six casinos. Mega Millions tickets are available in 47 states and jurisdictions.
