Caught on Camera: Yonkers man charged with felony after alleged upskirting incident

YONKERS, N.Y. — A 22-year-old man was arrested and charged with felony unlawful surveillance after allegedly using his phone to film up a woman’s skirt in downtown Yonkers earlier this month, according to police.

The incident occurred on the afternoon of November 6, when Gueovanni Patterson allegedly approached a young woman from behind and attempted to record under her skirt using his cell phone. The victim noticed Patterson’s actions and tried to confront him, prompting him to flee the scene. Bystanders quickly stepped in to assist the victim and contacted the police.

After conducting an investigation, Yonkers Police Department’s Intelligence Unit identified Patterson as the suspect and arrested him on November 14. He is currently being held on bail and is awaiting his next court appearance.

Yonkers Police emphasized their commitment to addressing such crimes. “We have no tolerance for creeps violating people’s privacy in our city,” the department said in a statement on social media.

Authorities have urged anyone who believes they may have been victimized by Patterson or anyone else in a similar manner to contact the Yonkers Police Intelligence Unit at 914-377-7341.
