MAYS LANDING, NJ — Eric Williams, a 56-year-old resident of Atlantic City, has admitted to first-degree aggravated sexual assault in a plea held on Wednesday, November 13, 2024. The guilty plea was entered in the Atlantic County Superior Court, where Williams faces a recommended sentence of 12 years in New Jersey State Prison. Under the terms of the plea, Williams must serve 85% of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole. Additionally, upon his release, he will be required to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and will be under parole supervision for life.

The incident leading to Williams’ conviction occurred on May 19, 2022, at the Atlantic City bus terminal. According to court documents, Williams sexually assaulted an adult female who was asleep in the terminal’s lobby. The assault was captured by the terminal’s surveillance cameras, which played a crucial role in his eventual arrest.
