Teen found shot dead in D.C. as MPD hunts killer

WASHINGTON, D.C.Police have launched a homicide investigation after the body of an 18-year-old man was found in Southeast Washington, D.C., last week, officials said Tuesday.

On Friday, November 8, officers from the Metropolitan Police Department’s Seventh District responded to a report of human remains in the 2600 block of Dunbar Road SE around 6:56 a.m. DC Fire and EMS arrived on the scene and confirmed that the individual was deceased.

The body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy revealed that the cause of death was gunshot wounds. The medical examiner ruled the death a homicide.

The victim has been identified as Alexander Pavon-Rios, 18, of Northwest Washington, D.C.

Police are urging anyone with information on this case to contact MPD at (202) 727-9099 or send an anonymous tip via text to 50411. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
