WASHINGTON, DC — A man was shot and injured Friday afternoon near the United Medical Center in Southeast Washington, prompting an ongoing investigation by police.
The Metropolitan Police Department reported that officers responded to the 1300 block of Southern Avenue SE shortly after 12:30 p.m. this afternoon. When they arrived, they found a man who had been shot and was unconscious but breathing. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment, though his condition remains unknown.
Police are now searching for a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to the shooting. The car is described as a silver sedan.
