EASTON, MD — A retired government contractor from Dorchester County won a $50,000 prize in the Maryland Lottery’s Pick 5 game after playing a set of birthday numbers in the October 31 drawing.
The Eastern Shore resident, who checked her numbers early in the morning, discovered that her chosen combination—81355—matched the winning numbers from the Halloween evening drawing. The numbers were part of her regular Pick 5 play, and her $1 straight bet paid off with a top-tier prize.
This latest win adds to her impressive lottery record, which includes a $10,000 prize from the Maryland Lottery and a $1 million jackpot she claimed out of state about eight years ago.
The winner plans to use her prize for home maintenance and a vacation cruise. Her lucky ticket was purchased at Wawa, located at 8118 Ocean Gateway in Easton. The retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the winning ticket.
