Maryland police investigating Cecil County shooting that left two dead, two injured

ELKTON, Md. — Maryland State Police are investigating a fatal shooting in Cecil County that left two people dead and two others injured early Saturday morning. Authorities identified one of the deceased as Tamir Rasheek Davis, 26, of New Castle, Delaware, who was pronounced dead at Christiana Hospital.

The identity of the second deceased individual has not been confirmed. The cause and manner of death for both victims are pending autopsy results.

Police responded to the scene shortly after 6:00 a.m., following a report of a man lying in the roadway. Troopers from the North East Barrack, along with investigators from the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit, arrived in the area to begin their investigation.

Two additional victims are being treated at local hospitals. One is at Union Hospital in Elkton, while the other is at Christiana Hospital in Delaware. Police have not released their names as the investigation remains active.

The Maryland State Police are asking anyone with information about the shooting or who may have witnessed the incident to contact the North East Barrack at 410-996-7800. Callers can remain anonymous.
