PHILADELPHIA — A 31-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night in West Philadelphia, marking the latest in a series of violent incidents in the area. The shooting occurred around 9:08 p.m. on the 5900 block of Callowhill Street, within the city’s 19th District.
Police said the victim, identified only as a Black male, was struck multiple times across his body. Officers transported him to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 9:23 p.m.
The crime scene was secured, but no weapon was recovered, and no arrests have been made, authorities confirmed. Police have not yet disclosed a possible motive or any information on suspects in the case.
The Homicide Unit is actively investigating, with detectives working to gather evidence and locate any witnesses. Officials have asked anyone with information about the shooting to come forward as the investigation continues.
