FREEHOLD, N.J. — Four suspects have been charged in connection with a shooting in Red Bank that left one man dead and another injured, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago announced on Friday.
The incident, which occurred in the early hours of July 10, has led to charges including murder, attempted murder, and hindering apprehension.
Lahmeir C. Hill, 31, of Pemberton Borough, and Sadiq Palmer, 25, of Freehold Borough, each face multiple charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree attempted murder, and first-degree conspiracy to commit murder, along with various second-degree weapons offenses. Simone K. Moultrie, 53, of Red Bank, was charged with first-degree murder, attempted murder, and third-degree hindering apprehension. Ticco K. Griffin, 29, also of Red Bank, faces a single count of third-degree hindering apprehension.
Police responded to a report of gunfire on River Street at approximately 3:13 a.m. on July 10, finding two men with gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified as 36-year-old Mikal Muhammad of Red Bank, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where he was treated and later released.
An investigation led by the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Bureau, the MCPO Narcotics and Criminal Enterprise Unit, and the Red Bank Police Department identified Hill and Palmer as the alleged shooters. Authorities did not disclose further details about the motives or the roles of Moultrie and Griffin.
