BRONX, N.Y. — Police are searching for a young man who allegedly attempted to steal a woman’s chain in a brazen attack on Wednesday in the Bronx.
The incident occurred on October 30 at approximately 4 p.m. in the vicinity of Hunt Avenue and Van Nest Avenue, according to the New York City Police Department. Authorities reported that a 31-year-old woman was approached by an unidentified male riding a motorized scooter, who then attempted to forcibly remove her chain from her neck.
The suspect reportedly dragged the woman along the ground during the struggle before fleeing the scene on his scooter. The victim sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene by emergency medical services.

The individual sought in connection with this attack is described as a male with a light complexion, approximately 16 to 20 years old, with a slim build and black hair. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with the words “World Tour 1988” printed on the front, black sweatpants, and red and black sneakers. Notably, the suspect also has a small circular tattoo on the right side of his face and was riding a black moped while wearing a black mask.
