Quick Arrest Made in Northwest D.C. Robbery Attempt WASHINGTON, DC - Following a Northwest robbery attempt, D.C. Metro Police Department’s Third District detectives have swiftly apprehended a suspect. The incident occurred today around 2:53 PM, in the 1200 block of W Street, Northwest. The suspect, identified as 20-year-old Lenare Leath, Jr. of Northwest D.C., allegedly brandished a knife and pushed the victim to the ground in an attempt to steal their property. After a struggle, the suspect fled empty-handed but was quickly caught by responding officers. The victim sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital. CAMBRIDGE, Md. — Cambridge Police responded to an incident on October 13 involving an armed subject, which resulted in the arrests of two men following an altercation in the area of Pine Street and Boundary Avenue. The incident unfolded at approximately 6:16 p.m., when officers were dispatched to a report of a man pointing a gun at another individual.

Upon arrival, officers located the described vehicle and detained a suspect identified as Sean Patrick Purnell, 29, who matched the description provided. As officers continued to investigate, another individual, identified as 20-year-old Sirjustice Sincere Jhal Dawson, approached and began assaulting Purnell by punching him. Police intervened and arrested Dawson at the scene.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm handgun without a serial number inside a bag where Purnell had been seated. Witnesses on the scene reported that the incident began with a dispute between Dawson and a female individual. According to witnesses, Purnell intervened in the altercation, leading to a confrontation between Purnell and Dawson, during which Purnell retrieved the firearm and pointed it at Dawson.

Both Purnell and Dawson were transported to the Cambridge Police Department for processing and their initial court appearances. Purnell was held without bond at the Dorchester County Department of Corrections, while Dawson was released on personal recognizance. Police have not disclosed the specific charges against Dawson.
