YARDLEY, Pa. — Authorities in Bucks County are investigating a fabricated video circulating on social media that appears to show the destruction of election ballots. The Yardley Borough Police Department and the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office confirmed in an update that the video was intended to undermine public confidence in the upcoming election.

In a statement released on Thursday, the Yardley police emphasized that the investigation has concluded that the video was falsified. Officials reported that they are working with the FBI to locate the source responsible for creating and spreading the misleading footage.

“We want to thank the public and the county’s Board of Elections for bringing this to our attention,” read the department’s announcement, which underlined that any acts of voter suppression, intimidation, or fraud would not be tolerated.

The incident comes amid heightened efforts by local law enforcement and election officials to ensure the integrity of the electoral process. The police did not provide additional details on how the video was fabricated or if any individuals had been identified in connection with its creation.

The investigation remains ongoing as federal and local authorities collaborate to trace the origins of the video and address concerns about voter confidence. Further updates are expected as the inquiry progresses.
