NYPD seeks suspect in Central Park knife threat incident

NEW YORK CITY — The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a menacing incident that took place in Central Park early Monday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 12:02 a.m. on October 21, near 67th Street and East Drive. A 34-year-old male was walking his dog when an unidentified individual approached him and displayed a knife. The suspect then threatened to slash the victim, prompting the man to flee.

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident, police said.

The individual being sought is described as a male with a medium complexion and is approximately 5 feet, 6 inches tall.

The NYPD has released images of the suspect and urges anyone with information to come forward as the investigation continues.
