WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man has been arrested and charged with assaulting several women in Northwest D.C. over a two-day period, the Metropolitan Police Department announced.
Ayotomiwa Babalola, 33, of no fixed address, was apprehended on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, after a woman reported being assaulted in the 1300 block of Irving Street, Northwest. Officers quickly responded and apprehended Babalola as he attempted to flee.
In addition to the assault charge, Babalola faces five counts of misdemeanor sexual abuse for incidents that occurred the previous day, October 21. Police say Babalola approached and inappropriately touched five women in separate incidents, including a teenage girl, at various locations across Northwest D.C., including the 3100 block of 14th Street, the 1300 block of L Street, and the 400 block of Massachusetts Avenue.
