Police investigate armed robbery in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Va. — Authorities are searching for suspects involved in an armed robbery that left a 27-year-old man injured early Sunday morning.

Officers responded to the 7600 block of Somerset Crossing Drive at approximately 1:07 a.m. on October 20, 2024, after receiving a report of a robbery. According to the investigation, the victim was approached from behind by unknown individuals. During the encounter, the suspects struck the victim with a bat and cut his hand with a knife.

The suspects stole the victim’s phone, clothing, and money before fleeing the area. The victim sought help at a nearby business and contacted the police. He was later treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspects were described only as Hispanic males wearing dark-colored clothing.

Police are continuing to investigate and are asking anyone with information to come forward.
