Gun-Wielding Attacker Targets Woman in Northwest DC

Washington, DC – A distressing incident of sexual abuse has led the Metropolitan Police Department to seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved.

On Sunday, October 13, 2024, at approximately 4:13 a.m., a victim reported that she was walking inside a building in the 1600 block of Lanier Place, NW, when the suspect approached her. The victim stated that the suspect pushed her to the ground, brandished a firearm, and made unwanted sexual contact before fleeing the scene.

The suspect is described as a black male with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark sweatpants.

Authorities urge anyone with information about this incident to refrain from taking action and instead contact police at (202) 727-9099 or text tips to the Department’s TEXT TIP LINE at 50411. The Metropolitan Police Department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and indictment of those responsible for crimes in the District of Columbia.
