New Jersey Congressman Admits He Never Visited Border as State Grapples With Migrant Issues

TRENTON, NJ – New Jersey is reeling from the side effects of the Biden-Harris border crisis, facing a housing crisis and a large increase in non-Englishf speaking students statewide in public schools.

Now, Congressman Andy Kim is being called out for ignoring the problem. Kim initially tried to “Democrat double-speak” his way out of the conversation but was called out by his Republican opponent.

Things got spicy during tonight’s New Jersey Senate debate! Curtis Bashaw (R) took a direct shot at Congressman Andy Kim (D) for not making a trip to the U.S.-Mexico border in his six years in office. Bashaw’s main point? If you haven’t seen the “holes in the wall” firsthand, how can you truly understand the border crisis?

Andy Kim admitted he hadn’t been to the border and mentioned that his work has focused on other national security issues, which didn’t sit well with Bashaw. Kim’s response, “No, I haven’t gone to the border to look at it in that way,” seemed to fuel Bashaw’s frustration. He called out Kim for ignoring a key part of the border security problem.

Bashaw painted a vivid picture for voters, saying it was “absurd” that the holes in the border wall haven’t been fixed, especially after so much time in office. Clearly, Bashaw’s strategy is to emphasize Kim’s perceived lack of attention to the border, using it as a talking point on security.
