Marlton, NJ — The Evesham Police Department responded to a report of an armed individual on Kelly Drive on Sunday at approximately 2:00 a.m. The suspect, identified as Amandeep Singh, was allegedly pointing a firearm at the homeowner and making threats before fleeing the scene.
Singh, a relative of the victims, traveled from Prince William County, Virginia, in search of his estranged wife. An argument ensued during his visit, leading Singh to threaten the victims with a firearm. After the suspect fled, the police initiated an investigation.
Through collaboration with the Medford Police Department, Singh was located and arrested in Medford, New Jersey. During his arrest, Singh was found in possession of multiple firearms, including a .40 caliber handgun and an AK47 rifle with four fully loaded high-capacity magazines. The handgun is believed to have been used in the assault.
As part of the investigation, Evesham Police contacted Prince William County authorities, requesting a welfare check at Singh’s residence in Virginia. Officers discovered two deceased individuals in Singh’s home, both appearing to have died from gunshot wounds. Singh’s estranged wife was found safe at another location.
Singh was transported to Virtua Hospital in Marlton for evaluation unrelated to his arrest. While receiving treatment, Singh assaulted an Evesham Police officer, although the officer was not injured.
Singh faces charges in both New Jersey and Virginia and is being held at the Burlington County Jail, awaiting his first court appearance.
