Henderson County Issues New State of Emergency Update

Henderson County, NC – Henderson County remains under a State of Emergency. The county-wide curfew was lifted on Thursday at 7 a.m. Restricted travel remains along Highway 64, Highway 74, and Highway 9 in the Bat Cave and Gerton areas.

The Resource Hub at 118 McAbee Court in Flat Rock will open Tuesday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Residents can drive through to collect necessary supplies. In addition, a FEMA Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) has been established.

Located at 2111 Asheville Highway in Hendersonville, the DRC will open Wednesday from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m., then continue daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. It will offer federal, state, and local resources for residents applying for FEMA assistance after Hurricane Helene.

Henderson County is working with Southern Disaster Recovery to manage storm debris removal. Open burning of debris is discouraged. The process requires separating different types of waste to expedite collection. Residents are advised to take advantage of the free curbside service.
