New Jersey to Require Child Support Certification Before You Can Go Fishing

TRENTON, N.J. — Starting October 15, all individuals obtaining a New Jersey Saltwater Registration will be required to complete a Child Support Certification Form as part of a new legislative requirement, according to the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife (NJFW).

This certification, which has been a longstanding requirement for hunting and freshwater fishing licenses, must now also be completed by those seeking saltwater fishing registrations, as well as other related permits or licenses.

The certification must be completed annually and applies to all NJFW licenses, permits, and registrations for the calendar year. Individuals who have already registered for saltwater fishing this year will be prompted to fill out the certification form the next time they log into the registration system.

This new requirement aligns saltwater anglers with the same compliance regulations that hunters and freshwater anglers have been following for years.
