GAMBRILLS, Md. — Five men were arrested Saturday morning after an attempted motor vehicle theft and weapons violation at a WaWa gas station in Gambrills.
On October 12, at approximately 7:30 a.m., officers responded to a report of an attempted vehicle theft at the WaWa located at 701 Annapolis Road. According to police, a male suspect exited a gray Nissan occupied by four other men and entered a silver 2015 Toyota Prius while the victim was pumping gas. The suspect tried but failed to start the Prius.
When officers arrived, the suspect was still inside the victim’s vehicle. He was arrested and found in possession of a loaded 9mm Glock 19 handgun. A subsequent search of the Nissan led to the discovery of two additional loaded 9mm handguns: a Springfield XD and a Taurus.
The suspect in the Prius and the four other men in the Nissan were identified and charged.

- Antonio Henry Pavon Jr., 23, of Mount Rainier, Maryland
- Tyson Damond Sampson, 25, of Washington, DC
- Onaje Adarryl Chapman, 26, of Capitol Heights, Maryland
- Marquette David Acker, 25, of Washington, DC
The investigation is ongoing.
