Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Gaithersburg Worksite Accident

GAITHERSBURG, Md. – The Montgomery County Department of Police is investigating a serious pedestrian collision that occurred Thursday morning in Gaithersburg, leaving one person critically injured. The incident took place around 9:16 a.m. in the 3500 block of Cherry Valley Drive.

Emergency responders from the Montgomery County 4th District and Fire Rescue arrived on the scene and found the injured pedestrian, who was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

According to the preliminary investigation, the collision happened when the pedestrian, who had been sitting on the tailgate of a white Ford F-250 pickup truck at a worksite, fell to the ground as the vehicle was reversing. The pedestrian was then run over by the truck.

The driver of the Ford F-250 remained at the scene and is cooperating with authorities.
