Annapolis police blotter: Burglary and theft reports

Burglary on President Street
At approximately 10:26 a.m. on Thursday, Annapolis police responded to a report of a break-in at a vacant second-story unit in the 1000 block of President Street. Upon arrival, officers met with HACA Safety Inspector Jermaine Dixon. The officers entered the apartment and cleared the premises, where they found a backpack in the kitchen containing medication prescribed to a suspect. The suspect had apparently entered through an unsecured bedroom window, where scuff marks were found on the exterior wall. Photographs of the scene were taken, and an assessment of property damage is pending.

Commercial burglary on West Street
Earlier that same day, at approximately 6:00 a.m., police were called to a commercial burglary in the 2000 block of West Street. The victim reported that the same suspects who had burglarized the gas station on October 6 had done so again using the same method of entry. The suspects reportedly broke through the garage door, entered the business, and stole lottery tickets and vape pen cigarettes. CCTV footage shows the suspects fleeing towards Francis Noel Way after the burglary. The total loss value was estimated at $23,000.

Shoplifting at CVS on S. Cherry Grove Avenue
Later in the day, at 12:35 p.m., police were notified of a theft at the CVS located at 503 S. Cherry Grove Avenue. A suspect stole eight boxes of diapers valued at $160. Police applied for charges, and a summons was granted for the suspect.

The investigations for these incidents remain ongoing.
