Philadelphia police seek suspect in shooting during robbery in West Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA — Authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying a suspect involved in a shooting and robbery that occurred early Thursday, October 3, in West Philadelphia. A 35-year-old man was shot in the leg during the incident, which took place outside 151 South 60th Street at approximately 2:41 a.m.

The victim was transported to a hospital with a single gunshot wound to his left leg and is currently receiving treatment. Surveillance footage from the scene shows the suspect fleeing the area with a noticeable limp.

The suspect is described as a Black male with a thin build, wearing a black hoodie featuring a white “Nike” logo on the left chest, a white t-shirt underneath, dark green or gray cargo pants, and black “New Balance” sneakers. Police noted that the suspect’s distinct walk or limp may help in identifying him.

The Philadelphia Police Department and the Shooting Investigation Group urge anyone with information regarding the suspect to contact authorities. The investigation remains ongoing.
