Toms River Child Rape Suspect Ordered to be Held in Jail Until Trial

TOMS RIVER, N.J. — A Toms River man will remain in custody as he awaits trial on multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault and kidnapping, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office. During a hearing on Tuesday, Keith Hahn, 46, was ordered to be detained in the Ocean County Jail by Judge David M. Fritch.

Hahn was arrested on October 1st concerning a reported child luring incident on Route 70 in Manchester on September 29.

The charges against him include aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual contact, kidnapping, luring, and endangering the welfare of a child.

A 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and sexually assaulted after she became lost while walking along Route 70 in Manchester, according to a statement from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Keith Hahn, 46, of Toms River, has been charged in connection with the incident on Sunday, September 29th.

The prosecutor’s office said the teenager was approached by a man driving a white Jeep Grand Cherokee. After speaking with him, the girl asked for a ride to the animal shelter in Toms River. However, instead of taking her there, he allegedly drove her to an undisclosed location in Toms River, where he sexually assaulted her.

Following the assault, Hahn drove the teen to a Walmart in Toms River, where she was able to get out of the vehicle and run home. Hahn was arrested on October 1 and remains in custody at the Ocean County Jail. He faces multiple charges, including aggravated sexual assault, kidnapping, and endangering the welfare of a child.

The Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office confirmed that Hahn will remain detained

On Tuesday, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer announced the decision in a press release. Assistant Ocean County Prosecutor Victoria Veni oversaw the detention hearing.

No trial date has been set at this time.
