Maryland Fugitive Wanted for Carjacking and Dognapping

EAST HUNTINGDON TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a Maryland man accused of carjacking a vehicle with a dog inside and fleeing the scene.

Kenneth Crider, of Poolesville, Md., is wanted for robbery, theft, and receiving stolen property following the incident on Monday outside a Tractor Supply store in East Huntingdon Township. Authorities said the victim was approaching the store when Crider allegedly snatched the keys to the victim’s truck and drove off.

The victim’s dog, named Lucky, was inside the vehicle during the theft. Crider was last seen fleeing the area in the stolen truck toward Route 819.

Police obtained surveillance footage from a nearby Walmart in Connellsville, recorded less than an hour after the carjacking. According to troopers, the video showed Crider arriving in the stolen vehicle, briefly letting the dog out of the truck before driving away.

State troopers are continuing their search for Crider and the stolen vehicle, a 2016 Ford Focus, in connection with the incident.
