JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A Glen Ridge contractor has been charged with theft and forgery following an investigation by the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Insurance Fraud Unit, authorities announced. Prince Narang, 37, owner of Artisan Design and Construction, was arrested on Thursday, Sept. 12, in connection with fraudulent activities involving a construction project in Jersey City.
Narang is accused of submitting a false Certificate of Insurance to secure a contract for residential work. The property owner discovered the fraud when attempting to file an insurance claim for property damage, only to find the certificate was invalid.
Narang faces charges of second-degree theft by deception and two counts of fourth-degree forgery. He has been released pending his first court appearance, which is scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 19. The investigation remains ongoing.
