Two Arrested in Fatal Shooting Outside Woodbridge Car Wash

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 54-year-old man was shot and killed outside the Sonic Soft Car Wash on Richmond Highway following a verbal altercation that escalated into violence on Saturday afternoon, police said. The suspects were apprehended shortly after the incident by Virginia State Police.

Officers responded to the shooting at 14109 Richmond Highway at approximately 3:52 p.m. on Sept. 14. According to investigators, the victim and Jermaine Antwoine Lewis, 25, became involved in a dispute that briefly separated before turning physical. During the confrontation, Lewis allegedly brandished a firearm and shot the victim in the upper body. A woman accompanying Lewis, identified as Vinisha Lanisa Neville, 29, also displayed a firearm during the incident.

The suspects fled the scene in their vehicle but were arrested by Virginia State Police along I-95 in Fairfax County shortly after the shooting. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. A building near the car wash was struck by gunfire, but no additional injuries or property damage were reported.

Lewis has been charged with second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and shooting from an occupied vehicle. He is being held without bond. Neville has been charged with brandishing a firearm, and her bond is currently unavailable.

The investigation is ongoing, and court dates for both suspects are pending.
