Woodbridge High School student arrested after making threats

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A 17-year-old male student was arrested on Tuesday after sending threats towards Woodbridge High School, police said.

The threats, made via email to another student, were detected through the Bark Alert system, which monitors online activity for potential dangers. The investigation revealed that the student sent messages suggesting possible violence at the school, located at 3001 Old Bridge Road.

Police quickly identified the individual and determined that there was no credible threat to students, faculty, or staff.

The student, whose identity has not been released due to his age, was arrested on September 12 and charged with threats by electronic means and threats to bomb. He is currently being held at the Juvenile Detention Center, and his court date is pending.
