CUMBERLAND, Md. — A 61-year-old Cumberland man has been arrested and charged with making threats of mass violence, among other charges, following a disturbance on York Place, according to the Cumberland Police Department.
Hallie Hansford Holder was taken into custody on Thursday, September 12, 2024, after officers responded to reports of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered that Holder had threatened to shoot multiple individuals at the scene and repeated those threats to the officers.
Holder was initially taken to a medical facility for evaluation, and an application for charges was submitted, resulting in the issuance of an arrest warrant. He was arrested later that day and appeared before a District Court Commissioner. Holder has been remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center and is being held without bond.
Holder faces multiple charges, including threat of mass violence, telephone misuse, public intoxication, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and failure to obey.
